Advice on Circular Economy
In our advice 'All aboard for the transitions’, the WKR recommends focusing climate policy on three transitions: the food system, the circular economy and the energy system. In a response, the Dutch government indicated that it would be useful if the WKR could elaborate on how to further intensify circular economy policy, including circular carbon.
This is what prompted the WKR to launch an advisory trajectory. A more circular economy, with a more efficient use of materials, has the potential to contribute greatly to making the production, use and processing of products more sustainable. As a result, greenhouse gas emissions can drop significantly.
The report is expected to be published at the end of 2025.
